this week has lasted a month

Is it Friday yet, [FORMATTED_FIRST_NAME GOES HERE]!?

I won't tell you everything on my to-do list this week because this email will turn into a novel! I'll just say that I've been teaching, planning, negotiating and squeezing in shorter-than-normal dog walks.

I'm ready for the weekend when I'll take extra-long leisurely hikes with Burt and Lucy. Honestly, that's what "working for the weekend" means to me... I work hard so we can wander in the woods!

But the dogs don't seem to understand "working for the weekend" they want to have fun every day. And who can blame them!?

Luckily, I have a treasure trove of fun activities we can do together. And a lot of them only take 10 minutes to tire out the dogs (or at least buy me some time!).

Here's a few:

Tricks! I don't care how young/old/lazy/crazy your dog is, they can learn simple tricks. Shake, spin, rollover. Not only are these physical, but they get your dog mentally engaged and having fun with you! 😍
If I'm really short on time, I give the dogs a long-lasting chew. Dried chicken feet disappear pretty quickly, but a stuffed trachea lasts 15 minutes.
Anything in the Mental Enrichment Activity Pack! If I'm making lunch, we work on "place", on walks we do hand targeting, after dinner it's 3 quick rounds of hide and seek. When I'm short on time, brain games are the best way for the dogs to have fun!

My schedule is about to lighten up in a few weeks and then I have a vacation planned in May. So there's a lot to look forward to! But again, Burt and Lucy don't understand that we will be having so much fun... later 😜
